Since 2000, we have been seeking to achieve independent certification of environmental management systems at local operations, with quality management certification having already started at the end of the 1980s.

In order to demonstrate that wood used in production comes from sustainably managed sources, we seek independent certification of the procurement practices of our forest products chain-of-custody in the markets where such certification is valued. Thus, to date twenty major operations have certified their forest products chain-of-custody through the two major forest management and chain-of-custody schemes PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
